About Me

Jeffrey A. Sherman, MD is a family medicine physician, specializing in primary care behavioral health and addiction medicine.  Dr. Sherman graduated cum laude from Emory University in 1990, majoring in psychology.  He attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College of Jefferson University in Philadelphia (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College), graduating as Doctor of Medicine in 1994.  He continued his medical training, both internship and residency, at The Residency Program in Family Medicine at Georgia Baptist Medical Center, now known as Atlanta Medical Center.  He has been certified by the  American Board of Family Medicine continually since 1998.  

He began practicing in 1997 in Palmetto, Georgia, later joining group practices in Meriwether and Fayette Counties.  He was Chief of Staff at Warm Springs Medical Center.  He launched his own primary care practice, Your Family Doctor, in Peachtree City, in 1997.  After 10 years of family medicine, his interest in psychiatry led him to join A New Start Medical Center in 2017.  Concurrently, he has been treating patients with opiate addiction at Treatment Centers of America, at their Newnan, Fayetteville, Kennesaw, and Brunswick locations, since 2009.  He is currently the Chief Medical Officer for Treatment Centers of America. He continues to see primary care family medicine patients through his VIP Concierge Practice.  Dr. Sherman is excited about the next chapter in his professional career, with the new office in Peachtree City.

On the personal side, Dr. Sherman is originally from Parsippany, New Jersey, He is married to J. Renee Holland, MD, who is a retired family physician.  They make their home in Moreland, near Newnan. They also have 4 adult children, Maya, Demi, Cynthia, and James. They have their own zoo of three border collies, two cats, one horse, five mini horses, two mini donkeys, and a mammoth donkey.  He enjoys technology, hard rock and heavy metal music, and spending time with his family and menagerie.
